40th Parallel Monument Dedication
The dedication ceremony of the 40th Parallel Monument on Baseline Road in Boulder took place on March 20th, with a good turnout and much local publicity. In this photo, City of Boulder Transportation Project Manager Alex May points to the dedication plaques on the monument, where the PLSC is cast in bronze as one of the contributors to the project. The location, on a busy bike/pedestrian path near a bus stop on a busy street will provide the surveying profession with favorable publicity, history and education to members of the public for years to come.
